MOUNTAIN CHECKOUT
While a mountain check is not an official rating and will not appear on your license, it is still an important piece of your training.
If you would like to rent one of our aircraft to fly in the mountains you must do a mountain check before that is permitted.
MOUNTAIN CHECK REQUIREMENTS
PREREQUISITES
Students must have a valid PPL or higher and have a valid medical.
MINIMUM FLYING REQUIREMENTS
The mountain check is not a rating or license, so no minimums apply. The mountain check can be completed in as little as a day, and typically includes a ground briefing and a cross-country flight into the mountains, which is typically about 3hrs round trip.
