INSTRUCTOR RATING
Getting your instructor rating allows you to come full circle and teach others to fly!
While employed as an instructor, you can add hours to your logbook while getting paid. This adds to your experience as a pilot, boosting your proficiency and knowledge!
Please note that completing your instructor rating does not guarantee employment.
INSTRUCTOR RATING REQUIREMENTS
PREREQUISITES
Prior to commencing training towards instructor rating, the candidate must hold a valid Commercial Pilot License and a Category 1 Medical.
MINIMUM FLYING REQUIREMENTS
This rating requires candidates to complete a minimum of 30 hours of dual flight training with a class 1 instructor, of which 5 hours must be instrument training.
In addition, 25 hours of ground instruction is required.
A Transport Canada written exam and a flight test must both be passed to obtain this rating.
